Presentation and Discussion with Can Xue

Graduate and undergraduate students in Comparative Literature and EALC are encouraged to attend Can Xue's lecture the previous day as this discussion will be based on the themes broached during this lecture.  These themes include, but are not limited to, Can Xue's experimental writing, the role of the reader, and the philosophical and theoretical framework of Can Xue's works.  Annelise Finegan Wasmoen, a current Ph.D. student in Comparative Literature who translated Can Xue's novel The Last Lover into English, will open up the discussion.  Students will be then welcome to join the discussion and ask questions regarding the writing and/or translating process, literary criticism, experimental writing, and other relevant aspects.
